As I took the trash out to the wheelie bin in the backyard, I was met by a perfectly still morning. No sounds could be heard save that of birds calling from all directions and laughter from the kitchen. The sky was a bright blue, the clouds dispersed. I could see the houses nearest us, but they were far off enough not to be in my face.
It was that sort of happy morning, with the wind and sun in your face, that makes you feel alive and joyful and full of possibilities. I stood there silently and praised God for all of it, for the thick leafy green trees as well as the bare trees through whose skeletal branches I could see the blue sky.
Back in our room, I was rummaging through the luggage when I came across a couple of Kids Praise CDs I had packed but forgotten about. I took out our favourite - Steve Green's Hide'em In Your Heart - and played it on my notebook. We all had a great time worshipping, esp Beth, who knows the lyrics to many of the songs. She particularly loves In My Father's House.
In my Father's house are many mansions
Many mansions in my Father's house
(2x)
And I go (I go) to prepare a place for you (for you, for you)
I go (I go) to prepare a place for you, for you
In my Father's house are many mansions
Many mansions in my Father's house
(2x)
