Day Out In Geelong

Geelong is VIC's 2nd largest city after Melbourne, and on Sun, we found a perfect excuse to spend the morning there. We were at Matthew Flinders Girls' College to attend an info session on Yamaha's Junior Music Course.

Took us an hour getting there, most of which was spent pulling over to try and figure out why we didn't seem to be getting closer to our destination.

Verdict: Not practical to send Beth there for music class on a Sat morning, esp if she has Chinese class after!

That aside, we're all very happy with the way the classes are conducted, the quality of the teaching, the quality of the materials. So friendly and happy and fun! And most important of all, non-intimidating. Makes me want to be a little girl and learn music all over again.

Afterwards, we explored the retail strip around Market Square and Westfield, and found a cafe called Banjo's, which had a fabulous soup-and-panini combo for $6.95.

As CA queued to pay up, Beth loudly announced, "And after this I want a double chocolate chip muffin." (Guess where she gets her sweet tooth, hehe.)

To which came the firm reply, "We'll talk about this after you've finished your lunch."

Post-panini, Beth requested a steak and mushroom pie. And a hot choc.

We looked at each other and grumbled about being eaten out of house and home if this becomes a habit.
