Drawers, Oven and Other No-Touch Zones

One day to the 9-month mark.
Caring for J now requires extreme watchfulness.

This evening, she tried to put her finger in an electrical socket.

She loves investigating the kitchen drawers and oven.

When told "No!", she tries to get off with a cheeky grin.

She claps her hands when she's happy.
Says "mum mum" when she's ready for her next mouthful of dinner.
Talks and purrs to herself in a singsong manner when she's in a good mood.
She used to ignore her soft toys. Now, she notices them and reaches out to touch the eyes, nose... It's as if she's seeing them as variations of herself, an "other" just like her.

She is still very clingy and generally prefers Mummy over everyone else.
However, I was pleasantly surprised this week when my uncle from Perth came to stay. It was the first time they'd met, and he and J got on so well she actually opened her arms to him whenever he approached!

She is a light sleeper with a suspicious nature. If I bring out her sleeping bag or walk towards her room, she immediately opens her eyes and starts squirming. If she falls asleep in my arms and I try to place her on the bed, she wakes and cries.
And yes, she still wakes 3x a night...
