Hoppers Crossing Boy Supports Elton

MELBOURNE 18-year-old Eran James has landed the dream job of supporting Elton John when the star tours Australia during November and December.

James was chosen after his management approached John and he approved the young Aussie himself.

Yesterday the singer, who is currently supporting American Randy Crawford, was over the moon and couldn't believe he had been chosen for the gig.

"I'm a huge fan - who wouldn't be?" he said yesterday.
"It's going to be one of the biggest things I've ever done."

James will tour with John for 10 shows and intimate venues in Melbourne, Townsville, the Barossa Valley, Sydney, Canberra, Launceston and the Hunter Valley in New South Wales.

The Grammy award-winning British musician's national tour - his 13th in Australia - is being called A Knight Under the Stars.

James is based in Hoppers Crossing and grew up in Altona Meadows in Melbourne's west.

The Australian singer releases his second album, Ten Songs About Love, next Saturday.
