Dance lessons for Beth

Beth loves tap dancing.

When the urge seizes her, she dances to her own choreography in an un-selfconscious way that is quite endearing.

For a long time now, she has been begging to go for lessons.

Fortuitously for us, there just happens to be a dance school within 5 minutes' drive of our home.

We discovered too that our neighbour/friend Anthea, who is Beth's age, goes there for ballet classes.

So 2 Saturdays ago, we took Beth for a trial tap/jazz session.

She loved it so much and even found the courage after class to show off her personal moves to her dance teacher.

Like most Aussie adults (who are really kind to kids and treat them as little people worthy of dignity and respect), her teacher said something encouraging like "Not bad!"

Looks like we'll be signing her up for tap classes soon, and she won't have just Chinese lesssons on her Saturday calendar.
