The forecast for today is 41 degrees.
When I looked at the thermostat this morning, it was 22.
It is now 4.30 in the afternoon and the mercury has risen by 11 whole degrees.
And that is the indoor temperature.
The evaporative cooling system is just blowing out hot air, so I've given up on that and have turned the fans on full blast in the lounge and in J's room.
We're all dressed as lightly as possible and the girls have had showers (in J's case, splashing in the tub with her bath toys) to keep cool.
My friend Alison is aghast at the thought of managing without air conditioning in this heat.
Am looking forward to Wed. The forecast is 16-25 degrees.
