My uni friend Sooch and her family came by to visit on Friday.
Her mum was enthralled by the variety of fruit trees out the back and the spaciousness of the interior.
Her hubby beamed and said he felt happy and comfortable just walking through our house and seeing how we lived.
His vicarious pleasure was a reminder of the deep contentment I feel everyday.
When I settle into the depths of the couch in our lounge.
When I stand at the kitchen sink and look out the window into the garden with its profusion of colourful bougainvillea.
When I stand at the kitchen counter reading under the skylight.
When I pause in the midst of writing to glance out into the street.
Thank you, Lord, for what you have given us: a haven of blessing and a place of peace, where peace and blessing are multiplied as they are shared with others.
