From 'L' to 'P' (Deja Vu)

Took the practical test on Thu.

Had a very shaky start, which didn't bode well for the next 20 mins.

First, it was raining.

Secondly, I'd barely got behind the wheel when the tester shouted from somewhere behind the car, "Brake!"

My brain was like, "Huh?" - cos I hadn't got round to turning on the ignition yet!

After getting through the pre-check routine of showing her I knew where the demister, windshield wipers, L and R indicators etc were, we left VicRoads for the main test.

The 3-point turn was ok, but I had a hairy moment when asked to change lanes and make a R turn fairly close to the lights. I only managed to move one lane, into the 2nd lane instead of the R-most lane, and started sweating over the implications. Thankfully, that 2nd lane was also a turning lane. Whew.

On our way back in to VicRoads, the tester said, "Park anywhere."

I swerved into a lot and - horrors! - found it too tight. Had to reverse and make another attempt. Good thing that worked out alright.

All in, I lost 6 points on "Judgment" and "Signals".

But as my instructor said when we collected the pink slip from the tester...

"Who cares, YOU PASSED!"

Thanks be to God, and thank you to everyone who prayed.

Beth is SO relieved she doesn't have to endure another practice car ride to and from VicRoads, haha. :-)
