Was just thinking of the Cliff Richard song.
It's been 7 years since we visited Tassie.
7 years since we were your regular DINK couple, when hols meant just that, and we didn't have to sweat the mundane stuff....like how many diapers a 9-day trip will equate to.
Beth likes to tell everyone (including her teacher) that she's going to Tas, where she was "made". Too much info, I reckon.
What's different about this trip is that we now have 2 kids to share the delights of Tas with. Not only that, we're going with friends.
My Law School-cum-NJC mate Jen is visiting Melbourne with her hubby and son and they're staying at our place.
It's been a wonderful time of bonding: Jen's hubby with CA, me with Jen, and Beth with Jen's son.
Jen and I have just taken up where we left off, filling in the gaps in our lives with no break in communication. It's as if we've been neighbours all this while rather than living in two countries 7.5 hours apart.
The guys are planning the where-to-go and other minutiae for each day of the trip. The gals will just tag along and of course, the kids will rule the day.
What other kind of family vacation is there?
