We picked up these potted plants while at ALDI.
It's a wonderful feeling to be able to cook with herbs that are alive and green and actually sitting on your kitchen window sill.
Makes one feel so...Jamie.
Basil's very handy when you want to do bruschetta or anything Italian.
The other is coriander ("wan sui"), which is indispensable to Asian cuisine.
I like scattering a handful of coriander leaves into the pot just before serving chicken soup.
Coriander goes well with fried rice and noodles too.
The instructions were to place the plants on the kitchen window sill and add 50 ml of water every day.
Despite adhering diligently to instructions, the coriander wilted after (just) one week.
The basil's still going strong.
Any green thing that can survive my nurturing is definitely hardy, haha.
