How To Get What You Want - For Free

Do you have junk that's taking up valuable storage space in your shed?

Here are some ways you can get rid of it.

You could hold a garage sale.

Garage sales are a very popular weekend pastime in Australia and a great way to declutter and make a bit of money.

You could sell your stuff online at eBay and Trading Post.

If you can't be bothered with all that, you could accumulate all your junk and leave it on the nature strip for the Council to pick up when it does its twice-yearly hard waste collection.

Here's a third idea: FreeCycle.

Give your still-useable stuff to someone who wants it.

I had a quick browse through the FreeCycle website today and was amazed at what was on offer:

Brush fencing
Bookshelves
Computer desk and chair
Dining table
Remington foot spa
Garage door that can be recycled as back gate or fencing
Chest of drawers
Bio Bokashi!

The donor specifies the pickup location and preferred pickup date.

All you need to do is email to say you want the item and when you will pick it up.

That's all!

The best thing about FreeCycle is that no money changes hands.

It's a win-win for all parties.

With everything going up in price, this is a perfect time to recycle, reuse and save money.
