The Best Prize Ever

Of all Beth's school awards, the green ribbon she got this morning is the most significant.

From now on, she will know what Philippians 4:13 means: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Who would've thought my spekky, book-loving gal with the dubious hand-eye coordination could win a medal for RUNNING?

As her group took off for the 50m dash, this mom was unabashedly yelling "Go Bethany go!"

A minute later, there was Beth... jogging (can you believe it?) to the finish line.

Some of the moms nearby turned to congratulate me. For a minute, we were laughing together with the shared joy of parents when they see their kids win. These are people who know Beth for her reading ability rather than her, uh, sporting prowess. Which made the moment all the more precious.

Days are like this are what makes this mom's heart sing. :)
