As Cheng Ann puts it, today's been a good day.
The grass is newly cut and de-weeded (after a lot of hard work last night with the church's electric lawnmower). A good thing when you need to avoid Scottie's randomly scattered mounds of poo.
The laundry's done.
The weather's fine (contra the 5-min-on/5-min-off rain and freak hail that assailed parts of Hoppers a couple of days back).
Beth's actually tidied up her room after being told just once. She's assigned her possessions to various brown cartons according to type. "This one's for my craft, this one's for my lotion, this one's for my milk bottle and stuff, this one's for my wubbish (rubbish)!"
Just this morning, Beth and Aunty Hui Mei went to the birthday party of HM's colleague Katrina's 4 y.o. son Lincoln. For once, Beth didn't need to be nagged or cajoled into getting ready. She's been so looking forward to the party (despite never having met Lincoln) that she was ready and waiting in the lounge long before HM was due to pick her up. We got home from church starving, with Beth starting to act up because one, it was lunchtime and two, she was due for a nap. CA cooked up a panful of delicious fried bee hoon for 4 growling tummies.
Now if we can just find our missing tube of glue so CA can fix up the falling bits of the car...
Thu is Beth's kinder orientation at Sr Rita Douglas Kinder. We'll get to see the kinds of activities that go on in a typical day, meet the other parents and kids and the staff. Next Thu will be AGM at the kinder. This is when parents make payment of the 1st instalment of the annual fees ($660 in Beth's case, for a 12-hour week) and receive info about when the term starts, as well as all the other admin stuff we need to know (kinders and childcare centres adhere to the SunSmart policy, which stipulates when kids can play safely outdoors, the kinds of hat/cap that are acceptable, use of sunscreen...).
