Baby J

She's gone from 2 feeds a night to 1! This morning, she woke at 5 am for a feed. What's nice is having an uninterrupted night's sleep. What's not so nice is waking up painfully engorged and soaked through from all that leaked milk. Yuck.

The swaddling is working wonders, along with the Feed-Play-Sleep routine prescribed in a brochure Nurse Chris gave me last week. After each feed, I play with Baby J for a few minutes (we have a chat, sing a song, walk around the house while I listen for that all-important burp), then swaddle her and put her down on the bed to fall asleep on her own. Works 9 times out of 10. Sometimes she fusses for a few minutes. I normally let her self-soothe (so she won't expect to be picked up everytime she cries) unless she's obviously distressed.

What a sanity saver a simple routine can be. :-)
