Weerama!

Our church is taking part in this year's Weerama Festival which is next weekend, 23-25 March.

Weerama means "To play". Not sure in what language, but there'll definitely be lots of opportunity for everyone to let their playful side show.
[Afternote: Jo tells me the language might be Aboriginal. Makes sense.]

Just a sample of the planned programme: concerts, talent contests, a floral display and craft show (at our church), fishing competition, music & skate youth expo, martial arts display, amusement games and rides, street entertainment, a craft market.

The whole Wyndham community is invested in this annual festival in a major way and the HXUCA Men's Working Bee in particular has been working really hard to spruce up the church in preparation for this weekend.

The highlight will be the Weerama Procession on Sun morning, where a parade of floats will make its way down Watton Street (Werribee town centre). Sort of like National Day Parade back home. :-)

We'll be joining our church family to walk behind the float and hand out balloons to onlookers, and all of us will be wearing special T-shirts with the theme Let The Rhythm of God Flow Within. Pity they haven't got one in Baby J's size!
