CA and I attended a parents' info session on Mon night for those wanting to enrol their children at Heathdale Christian College.
There was a video presentation and Q&A, followed by the taking of appointments with the Principal and Head of Junior School. Beth, CA and I are scheduled to be interviewed on Tue 8 May @ 2.15 pm for about 15 minutes, to see if we and HCC are a good fit for each other.
We are hopeful that Beth will be offered a place for Prep next year.
I looked up the school report for 2005 and here's what the Principal said in his preface to the report. It gives you an idea of what he's like as a person and as a leader.
Heathdale Christian College
Heathdale 2005
Introduction – from the Principal
This report was written initially as a requirement from the Federal Government under the Schools Assistance Act 2004 as part of the Educational Accountability clauses. It was designed to have schools report to its families and to the community generally on the previous year. This report therefore is based on the 2005 school year.
Initially I was inclined to feel that the College’s independence was being challenged and was concerned that a meddling Government was imposing yet another reporting requirement on us.
After gathering and formulating this report I am pleased to say we see this as an opportunity to promote Heathdale’s Christian foundations and rationale, and to communicate the College achievements and dreams. We have after all nothing to hide, and we are proud of our College. This report I’m sure will reflect very well on the College, its staff and its community generally.
This does not mean we are perfect. We have still much to do in achieving even better programs, facilities and results for our families. We need to continue to develop and change with the times so that we remain a vibrant and relevant Christian College that is of service to its families, to the community, and that serves God faithfully.
