Having a piano in the home really adds to the atmosphere of familial cosiness.

Beth alternates between CA's Yamaha Portasound, the kind with keys just right for little fingers, and her mini guitar, which she begged us to buy. We're taking her to a Yamaha Junior Music Course trial session this month. Will see if she enjoys keyboard enough to take it up. Her preference is actually drums, but it's a lot harder to find a drum teacher, and I reckon the keyboard is a more versatile instrument to start with.
CA's guitar has been getting a good workout the past week, in preparation for last Sun's Family Service, when he strummed 'Cavatina' while hamming it up as one of the Three Amigos. The trio represented the Holy Trinity: God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Me, I'm blissed out with my latest and most worthwhile investment: the Yamaha P70. Am still playing rather crudely, but practice should do the trick.
Had my first 'public performance' at last Sat's Presbytery meeting. It was a gathering of church leaders from as far away as Craigieburn and Warrnambool, and my job was to play 3 hymns. At least I didn't get my usual nervous crick-in-the-neck this time.
One of the things I most appreciate receiving from my mum is the gift of music (the other is reading). Although I'll never qualify to play in a hotel or concert hall, I can do the Barney theme song, Mother Goose nursery rhymes, most songs on ABC Kids, and the odd Sunday School tune. Good enough for a few minutes of Music 'n' Movement with the kids, to stimulate their musical intelligence.
