I thought I was imagining things this morning. Washing my hands was a numbing experience, even after letting the hot water tap run for a few seconds. And despite having all the blinds open to the max to let in the morning sun, I can still feel the chill through my jeans.
From Yahoo News today:
Melburnians were coming to terms with the short, sharp shock of the city's coldest morning of the year on Thursday.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the average early morning temperature of three degrees celsius was fairly typical for the year.
"But it's a bit of a shock to the system, a sharp change from the warm, mild autumn and May that we had," forecaster Phil King told AAP.
Overnight, the temperature in metropolitan areas dipped to zero degrees while at Yarra Glen on the edge of the Dandenong Ranges, the mercury slipped to minus two degrees.
