Another milestone today for Baby J: she sampled her first teething biscuit!
This pic was taken @ Central Square Shopping Centre in Altona.

(I'm almost wishing she wouldn't grow so quickly tho'. B/feeding is so much simpler...and less messy!)
House hunting is a great excuse for sussing out a suburb you've never been before. Today we drove to Altona, which is 20 minutes away via the Princes Highway/M1. It's a bayside suburb next door to Point Cook, and has all the requirements of a liveable area in the western suburbs: good schools, parks, train stations (there are 3 on the same road!), cafe precinct (Pier St), close to water (Cherry Lake and Altona Beach), easy access to Melbourne CBD via the Westgate Freeway.
It's officially winter (1 June was the first day), but that didn't stop a teenager enjoying her ice cream cone as we passed each other on the pier. The light on the water was just beautiful. The rays that penetrated through the dark clouds hit the water, creating golden pathways, and the wind blew gentle silky ripples on the waves. Beth had a marvellous time on the swing and seesaw and playing with sand. To think that once upon a time, she wouldn't even step out on the beach (we're thinking Gold Coast, 2003).
