Footy Day At Heathdale

Today is the last day of Term 3.

The kids are off for the next 2 weeks. (Oh no!)

Beth has a few activities lined up:
The Colin Buchanan concert in the City on 22/9
Visit to Manor Lakes Aged Care Home on 29/9
Holiday activity at Epiphany Anglican Church on 2/10

In between, we'll try to organize play dates with a few friends.

Today was a special treat for the Prep-Year 2's.

They were asked to come to school in their footy team colours. Sports attire plus their team's cap/beanie/scarf/jersey.

I scanned Beth's classmates and it looked like we're dominated by Geelong Cats and Western Bulldogs supporters. Maybe it's because tonight is the preliminary kick-off between the Cats and Dogs (!!) for the AFL.

Triston was waving a Cats flag. Miss Holmes had on a navy-and-white striped top, Cats muffler and a pair of white pipe-cleaner-material cat's whiskers, which she gleefully stuck on her upper lip!

The mums and dads chuckled.

Wish I had photos to show you, but I would've been the only parent snapping away (making me look extra sotong), so you'll have to take my word for it.

The AFL Grand Final is on 27/9. We will remember to stay away from wherever the game's being played on that day.

One older boy (probably someone's big brother) stood facing the line-up and led Prep H in a very rousing Western Bulldogs cheer.

I couldn't help joining in; it was so FUN!

This is part of the well-rounded education experience that is our gift to Beth. You can't buy it or manufacture it...and you definitely can't get it where we come from.

Come to think of it, we're on the receiving end as well.

Our Aussie cultural experience so far has been nothing short of amazing, and we're blessed by the hospitality we've received.
