Daylight savings started on Sunday. After 2 years here, we automatically put our clocks forward first thing in the morning. We're now 3 hours ahead of Singapore.
Met Marg, her hubby Michael and her daughter Maddie (Beth's classmate) at the Plaza this afternoon. Maddie ran up to Beth with arms outstretched. What a lovely girl.
We realized this is the last term our girls will be called preppies. Three more months and they'll be in Grade One. How quickly the year has gone by.
Went to the Vietnamese clothing alteration shop near Coles to get Beth's summer uniform lengthened. At $15 a pop, it's not cheap. CA grumbled that all I need is a sewing machine and I can lengthen and shorten any number of pieces of clothing myself. He forgets that the only sort of sewing I'm up to is the sew-on-a-button kind.
The gastro virus is doing its rounds in our family.
J was first last Thu. She threw up repeatedly while CA was away at band practice, and I had to summon him home urgently. He took her to the Werribee Mercy Hospital later that night to find out why she'd broken out in red spots all over. Turns out she had hives, not measles as CA thought. A dose of Claratyne worked well, but the constant throwing up was a real test of our patience and humour (ever tried hand washing a puked-on doona?).
On Sat, it was my turn. On Sun night, CA. Now, it's Beth's. I thought she'd escaped it, but she's chosen the eve of school to be sick.
Such is the parenting journey - you never know what's around the corner, do you.

tell him a sewing machine costs $300 so you will need to alter at least 20 uniforms to break even! haha ...
