From all accounts, the (free) food was a winner, but the organizers probably underestimated the number of people who were turning up. The satay was gone very quickly, and the helpers tried to limit the free Capitaland brollies to one per family! Having to queue 20 mins under the hot sun at every stall was another cause of disgruntlement.
Beth enjoyed the chicken rice best. At least now we know what she'll like when we go back to Sg at the end of the year.
We had a bit of fun unearthing the contents of the goodie bag.
- erasers (one with the Sg flag on it),
- binoculars,
- sticky notepads,
- a picnic mat with a picture of the Esplanade,
- Yeo's satay sauce and Nasi Goreng paste
- Glory Hainanese kaya with honey (yay, kaya toast for brekkie!)
- a "very clean wan!" pack of wet wipes...and a chatek!
Beth is learning to kick it as I type. It'll make a great show-and-tell item when she goes back to school on Tue.
