A Real Estate Agency With A Difference

The real estate industry is a much maligned one, rife with horror stories of commission-driven deception and low ethical standards.

So for a real estate agency to be awarded "Office Of The Year 2008" for its "integrity" and for being "the finest example of a real estate agency in Australasia" is really something.

The BM Difference

Brian Mark is a Jenman-accredited agency, meaning that it uses consumer advocate Neil Jenman's training principles and philosophy in hiring, retaining, training and in its dealings with buyers and sellers.

It also uses a very selective recruitment process. It is only after nine months of probation and discussions, when both the applicant and BM are satisfied that the applicant is a good fit, that BM offers the applicant a permanent position.

A third unique selling proposition of BM is that it offers its agents a generous basic salary (A$52K when I first heard about it, now raised to A$77K) so that they will not fall prey to "commission rage", the term used for the low-brow tactics employed by desperate agents who want to secure a commission at all costs, whether or not it is to the vendor's benefit.
