Buying A Drum Set...The Second Time Around

Years ago when hubby was learning the drums with Blair of Blair's Bunch, we invested in a $1800 drum set.

Then we moved here, decided to sell what we weren't sure we still needed, and sold the lot to my aunt who was taking drum lessons (she's in her 60s!).

Now Miss 9+ is learning drums, and we think she's ready for her own drum kit.

Last Monday was a public holiday (Queen's Birthday), and we spent it driving 72 km to Cranbourne Music to check out their VIP Preview Sale.

I must say we were very impressed by the customer service. I am just so amazed by anyone who is a natural at dealing with people in a friendly, easy, non-threatening way, where you feel they sincerely want to help you get the thing you want at the price you want.

Cranbourne Music has two stores: one sells drums exclusively and the next-door store sells everything else.

We got Beth an $800+ electronic drum set (normally $1200). Then we went next door for the amplifier and other bits.

She is now very enthusiastic about practising...to the exclusion of the keyboard.

Hubby has reconfigured the lounge (yet again), to accommodate all the new instruments and accessories.
