Who Else Loves Seminars?

I admit it.

I am a seminar junkie.

If I didn't have to do the school run, I would attend even more seminars than I do now.

Personal development. Real estate. Starting a business. Online marketing. Bring it on!

Last Sunday, I attended a free seminar by Cashflow Capital.

Thanks to my 12-month journey with TCI, I am learning to quickly develop great rapport with strangers.

I had a great time with the fellow latecomer on my left, learning about his job in Canberra and his negative gearing strategy.

At morning tea break, I locked eyes with a 20 yo Vietnamese guy (I almost wanted to say 'boy'). Turns out he's studying first-year Architecture and is already planning for the future. I told him I acknowledge him for thinking outside the square. When I was 20, I was just thinking of assignments, research and how to survive law school - it's true!

We exchanged contacts and he asked that I keep him posted of future seminars like this one. Then he connected me with a friend who's got a successful business and could help me with mine...but that's another story.

After the presentation on US distressed properties, a young man jumped into the seat next to me and made a proposal. Would I be his business partner for the purpose of the US study trip and we could split the cost of the trip? (I think it cost something like $1600 for the 5-day trip and you were allowed to bring a partner free of charge.)

I said I'd have to think about it...just so I could sit with the idea and enjoy the feeling of it, instead of saying no right away like a good risk-averse Singaporean.

At lunchtime, I took myself off to Chinatown and found a nice quiet Japanese cafe. My instinct said 'scallop hotplate' but for some reason I opted for the Japanese curry with pork. Not one of my better choices. Next time I'm in the area I will try the hotplate.

As the seminar wound down for the evening I found myself chatting with more strangers than ever.

The lady behind me who like me is a mum of two and hopes to buy cashflow positive properties so she can have the option to continue to stay home with her kids.

The property buyer aka mentor who has actually heard of Tarneit, Truganina, Hoppers Crossing.

All in, a fruitful trip to the City.

Logistics-wise, TCI is still streets ahead in the way the crew manages events, creating a magical atmosphere and making participants feel they made the right decision to be there.
